Mood For the Day

Today's Mood on Sat, 17 Oct 1998

The Cat looked up at its Housepet's Guest with sincere appreciation.

Most of its Pet's Guests sat down on a low couch which tended to make laps scarce and uncomfortable. This Guest, though, had the decency to sit on the floor, providing a warm cushion big enough for two (Cats). This made it especially convenient: The Cat didn't need to compete with the Other Cat; there was plenty of room for all.

Today that was especially appreciated. The Other Cat had accidentally stuck its head in the bowl of moist Food, and so The Cat spent the better part of an hour licking Foodstuffs from the Other Cat's eyebrows. All this to the sounds of some music that their Housepet fed the stereo, to the (conveniently) immobile appreciation of the Guest.

The warmth of the Guest compounded with the contentment of the Other Cat. The Cat settled down to a well-deserved Nap. The next it knew, it awoke to the time to Stretch.

The Housepet threw a ball, and The Cat went after it: obviously oblivious to the Guest's grateful limbs. After all, for what other purpose were the Guests and Housepets there?
